This blog offers a modern look at "ye olde" tradition of travel and migration in the British American colonies. Whether for adventure, for profit (the word "adventure" stems from "venturing" one's capital), or because they were forced, travel was always arduous (hence "travail"), and often offered little more than a lifetime of work.
